Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road, the First Toll Road in Indonesia to Use CSP

Pekanbaru-Dumai (Permai) Toll Road was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo virtually on Friday, 25 September 2020 from the Bogor Presidential Palace accompanied by the Minister of State Secretary, Pratikno. The inauguration was attended by Minister of PUPR Basuki Hadimuljono, Governor of Riau Province Syamsuar and Head of BPJT Danang Parikesit directly at the Dumai Toll Gate.

Permai toll road, which is one of the sections of the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS), was built by a subsidiary of BUMN PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (HK) named PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) since 2017. The toll road with a length The 131 km consists of 6 (six) sections, namely Section 1 Pekanbaru - Minas (9.5km), Section 2 Minas - South Kandis (24.1km), Section 3 South Kandis - North Kandis (16.9km), Section 4 North Kandis - South Duri (26.2 km), Section 5 South Duri - North Duri (29.45km), and Section 6 (Duri Utara - Dumai (25.05km).

HKI strives to continue to prioritize the latest innovations and breakthroughs in every work process. In the construction of the Permai Section 4 toll road, HKI uses CSP & Mortar Foam technology with a length of 159 meters. CSP is an innovative plate steel structure that is modified with a corrugated shape so that the structural strength is increased by up to 50 times. Foam Mortar is a substitute / aggregate material above CSP for which it has the advantage that its specific gravity is only 0.9 ton / m3 or approximately half the weight of the landfill, but has durability (strength) high.

The use of CSP & Mortar Busa makes Permai toll road the first toll road in Indonesia to use CSP & Mortar Busa on its main route (main road). Compared to using a fill, use CSP & Foam Mortar on main road toll roads are lighter in weight, so that the structural foundation is more economical. This assembled product, CSP, has a strong structure with high durability. This makes the work process at the project site very minimal and clean because there are only installation activities and finishing so it is faster in the implementation process. Apart from being faster, the use of CSP makes implementation on the project easier because it is not affected by weather conditions, plus it consumes much less natural material than using the embankment method. The use of CSP & Foam Mortar makes the construction period 60-70% more efficient and saves up to 50% more work time compared to conventional construction.

Operation Director II HKI I Wayan Mandia explained that the use of CSP & Mortar Foam on Permai Toll Road has its own challenges. "HKI is the first time using CSP & Mortar Foam on the main route of toll roads, special attention is needed starting from the design concept, implementation drawings, and accuracy as outlined in the field implementation method, as well as intense monitoring and periodic evaluation of implementation as well as improvement to accelerate each stage. work, so that they can produce the best work, "said Wayan.
